At Frankfurt School, we are proud to support the advancement of women in business. We understand the important role women play within our global economy and the challenges they often face as they grow in their careers. Our Frankfurt School community fosters a supportive, collaborative, and inspiring environment where women can confidently strengthen their leadership skills, build a strong network, and share real-world experiences with other leaders from diverse sectors and industries. We look forward to welcoming you to the Frankfurt School family as we help build a more inclusive world - where people have equal career development opportunities and can take on more leadership roles regardless of culture, gender, or professional background.

Frankfurt School of Finance & Management
In order to encourage a more inclusive MBA cohort, it is our goal to address the challenges women often face in the course of their careers. We want to amplify the voices of our MBA women - from their own perspectives. From fighting imposter syndrome to preparing to launch that new business in the midst of a global pandemic, to taking the leap and switching careers, juggle kids and families or finding a balance between their careers and their studies - women across our MBA programmes can empathise as they overcome common challenges to reach both their personal and professional goals.
Many of the women across our programmes are entrepreneurs and top business leaders. Career progress is not always easy and many hurdles have to be overcome to reach one’s professional goals – but the result is worth the effort. Women in our MBA programmes are encouraged to use the time during their studies to leverage their networks and, if they have been thinking about starting their own business, get started on that business plan.
Our students not only represent different geographical regions, ethnicities, and gender - they are also joining us from diverse sectors and industries. Allowing students, with or without a classical business background to challenge themselves and reach higher. Regardless of your professional background, we have an MBA programme for you. See where the MBA journey has taken our students and take a look at some of our MBA women's career trajectories! Our students and alumni are always happy to connect with you and share more about their experiences.
"On a personal level, it was showing me that I am capable of doing more, believing in myself. On a business level, it made me advance my own mind set, to have a broader view and to start thinking more outside the box. On a career level, it gave me tools on hand and through this the courage to start my own business (Candelabra Consulting)."

"In principle, I believe considering an MBA is just as important for a woman as it is for a man as it provides you with an excellent education. However, I believe that as a woman this excellent education gives you the confidence that enables you to make it in any professional environment."

Full-time MBA
Even while at the height of their careers, women at the senior and executive levels face many challenges. Including balancing work and personal lives, salary negotiations, and lack of equal representation. As an alumna, Dr Ute Wiedemann (International Healthcare Management, Class of 2020), a board member at DAK Gesundheit, shares more with us about the challenges of being an entrepreneur, mother, and medical professional. She knew she needed to find creative ways to balance her personal and professional life with her studies – for example, bringing her children along with her to Dubai as she completed her MBA module there.
Many other women face similar situations like Ute. Especially during times like these, we want to equip women with the necessary tools as they return back to the workforce or move up in their careers. If you are wondering how they managed to balance motherhood, leadership roles, and their studies and how you can do the same, there is no secret formula to their success - just a lot of support from their families, colleagues and the flexible schedule in the programme.
Once you join the Frankfurt School family, you will be a part of a strong alumni network from across various professional sectors and industries. Not only do we put an emphasis on connecting our students and alumni through our networking events, career fairs, and executive talks, we have also created an environment for MBA candidates to come together, exchange ideas and learn from one another, as shown on the campus tour video below. In light of current restrictions, most events have transitioned online to allow for additional networking opportunities during the programme.
FS Women in Business is a platform for FS students, graduates, and professionals. Our goal is to support and encourage each other and to exchange insights about career opportunities. As a platform for personal and professional development, we organize (internal) networking events, round tables, and workshops with companies such as Roland Berger, Morgan Stanley, PwC, or Bain, as well as with other female university initiatives such as FEM of WHU or Nova Women in Business - discussing both soft skill-related topics and current professional matters. Further, the platform includes sharing career opportunities as well as a learning hub in which insights and tips about personal and professional development are shared regularly. The community consists of approximately 300 students and is increasingly growing - forming a valuable and extensive network.
Our vision is to empower women and provide women with the resources needed to build and grow their network, knowledge, and skills to pursue a career in business successfully.
Through a unique combination of coaching, networking, analytical reflection and tailor-made personal development, the Women’s Leadership Academy aims to enhance and maximise women’s leadership effectiveness and harness their true potential. With peers from all over the world, senior female managers will be equipped with the necessary intellectual tools to break through that infamous “glass-ceiling”, creating sustainable value for their respective organisations.
Participants will be exposed to many different aspects of leadership – from channelling creativity effectively to being able to inspire teams and audiences, and finally, to negotiate to create value. Personal coaching and individual leadership feature just as prominently as networking.
Throughout the programme, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their experiences, bring insights back to the classroom, and receive feedback from faculty and peers.
Hear from our Programme Director of the MBA in International Healthcare Management, Annette Wright, as she shares more about the highlights of the programme, strong network and growth opportunities for all.

For many sectors and industries, the lack of representation of women in business has ongoing consequences for the communities and organisations they are a part of. Our MBA is rooted in supporting future leaders who want to lead their organisations with authentic and thoughtful leadership. Women can bring in different perspectives, different styles of leadership, different priorities, and different experiences. In addition to our regular MBA scholarship opportunities, we have also introduced a specific “FS Women in Business Scholarship” to support highly ambitious and talented women. All MBA scholarships are awarded on merit and are part of our ongoing effort to encourage diversity and excellence across our MBA programmes.
