German Economists Abroad (GEA) was founded in 2004 by Berthold Herrendorf and Michele Tertilt. The main activity of GEA is to organize a two-day conference in the week before Christmas. These Christmas Meetings offer German economists who work abroad a forum for intellectual exchange and the possibility to get to know the research community in Germany. The Christmas Meetings are hosted by different German institutions.
In 2019 Frankfurt School hosts the Event from December 20th to 21st.
Prof. Dr. Tobias Berg, Associate Professor of Finance at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, is the local organiser of the GEA 2019.
