Frankfurt School welcomes 403 new students in its pre-experience master's programmes. 253 students start in the Master of Finance, 115 in the Master in Management and 35 in the Master in Applied Data Science programme.

Professor Dr Nils Stieglitz, President and CEO at Frankfurt School, welcomed the new students and shared three pieces of advice from his own time as a student: “First, do not worry about the relevance of the material covered in the classroom – you do not know what will be relevant in your professional life and what your personal challenges will be. Second, learning does not happen only in the classroom. Get involved in our student clubs and initiatives, contribute to the vibrancy of the Frankfurt School community. And third, seize the opportunity to engage with faculty and your fellows."

In his address, Frankfurt School alumnus Wolfgang Wagner emphasised the importance of networks that Frankfurt School offers its students: ”Use this time to determine what your options can be. Seek internships, visit career events, speak with professors and alumni, to find out how to best achieve your goals.” Wolfgang Wagner is Executive Director at Goldman Sachs Asset Management and Master in Management alumnus class of 2016.

Juan Pablo Arriaga, currently in his final semester of the Bachelor in Computational Business Analytics programme at Frankfurt School and winner of the FS Spirit Award 2024, reflected on the Frankfurt School spirit in his speech: “One of the things I love most about Frankfurt School is the motivation and drive you feel from everyone around you. It’s an environment that pushes you to be your best self, to take on new challenges, and to strive for success."

The opening ceremony for the pre-experience master's programmes took place on 26 August at the Frankfurt campus. Lisa Ronneburger, Head of Student and Alumni Affairs at Frankfurt School hosted the evening.

Being already a good tradition at the opening ceremonies, an interactive drumming show followed the welcoming addresses. The evening ended with a networking meeting and a barbecue in beautiful late summer weather. This gave the new students the opportunity to get to know each other and make their first contacts.

In addition to the opening ceremony, Frankfurt School offers an orientation week. It includes a comprehensive introduction to facilities and services such as the Learning Centre, Entrepreneurship Centre, Career Services and Student Support Services. It aims to help students to successfully start their time at the business school.
