Frankfurt am Main, 10.05.2024 12:00:00

At the annual President's Reception, Frankfurt School thanks students who are particularly active in the FS community — for example by taking part in competitions, organising student events and projects or supporting their fellow students. Their commitment embodies the spirit of Frankfurt School, strengthens the sense of community and serves as inspiration for others.

Last Friday, 111 students from the Frankfurt, Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Munich campuses came together for the reception in Elaine's Living Room, near the Alte Oper. Professor Dr Nils Stieglitz, President and CEO of Frankfurt School, welcomed the attendees: “Frankfurt School is proud of its vibrant student community. It gives students the opportunity to learn and grow personally outside the classroom. Tonight, we want to celebrate you, our highly engaged students, and say “Thank you” for your extraordinary commitment!”

FS Spirit Award — Honouring exceptional commitment

In recognition of outstanding commitment, Professor Stieglitz presented the FS Spirit Award for the eighth time. The award, which has now become a tradition, honours two students who have rendered outstanding services to the Frankfurt School community with their sense of responsibility and motivation. This year, a total of 23 candidates from various programmes were nominated for the award.

The winners are Juan Pablo Arriaga Penagos and Cloe de Leo – congratulations!

Juan Pablo Arriaga Penagos represents his study group as a class representative and supports his fellow students as a tutor. As a member and later Head of the FS Charity initiative, he organised several successful fundraising projects. As head of the Model United Nations initiative, Juan Pablo ensured that the Frankfurt School delegation was well prepared for its trip to New York. Cloe de Leo is an active member of the FS Arts and FS Women in Business initiatives in addition to her studies, internships and full-time job and was responsible for the success of the TedxFS 2023 event. As head of the initiative, she not only organised the event, but also successfully moderated it.

After the award ceremony, a flying buffet and drinks invited guests to enjoy a chat in a relaxed atmosphere. A special highlight: the 360° photowall, where students could take 360° videos of themselves and their friends to capture this special evening.
