On 25 September 2024, Frankfurt School of Finance & Management hosted an inaugural lecture to celebrate the promotion of Professor Benjamin Born to full professor. He gave the lecture on Modern Macroeconomics - How Science Influences Policy.

The lecture opened with a warm welcome from Professor Ansgar Richter, Dean of Faculty, and was moderated by Professor Sascha Steffen, Vice President Research at Frankfurt School. Sascha Steffen highlighted Benjamin Born's significant contributions to macroeconomics and noted that Born’s work on business cycles, inflation, and monetary and fiscal policy has been published in leading economic journals like the American Economic Review. He emphasised that Professor Born's research has not only shaped academic discourse but also influenced industry practice and policy. In addition, Professor Jens Weidmann provided insights into the intersection of macroeconomic theory and practical application.

The event ended with a Q&A session, allowing the audience to engage directly with the speakers. Following the lecture, participants and guests gathered for a reception, offering a platform for further discussion and networking.
