Last week at Frankfurt School was all about the opening ceremonies. After welcoming the new students of the pre-experience Master programmes last Monday, the opening ceremony for the part-time Bachelor students took place on Friday and the ceremony for the Bachelor of Science programmes on Saturday.
Professor Dr Nils Stieglitz, President and CEO at Frankfurt School, welcomed the students to the Frankfurt campus on both evenings and got them in the mood for an exciting and memorable time as they further their academic journeys and immerse themselves in the FS’ vibrant community.
Maximilian Richter, Assistant Vice President, Risk Solutions Group at Barclays Investment Bank, held the guest speech for the new part-time Bachelor students. He recalled how his studies shaped his career path and summarised what makes Frankfurt School so special: “Excellent professors, a network of global financial players, individual career counselling and the campus in Frankfurt were the reasons why I chose Frankfurt School.”
Daniele Ermini, Bachelor in Business Administration student, gave his new fellow students an important piece of advice: “Frankfurt School offers much more than academics that will enrich your time during and after your studies. Take the opportunity to build up a valuable network. Join initiatives and attend events regularly.”
The 80 Bachelor of Business Administration (BA) students in the class of 2024 are already working and will study at the Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg or Munich campuses or use the popular virtual BA@Home option.
With a total of 600 students, Frankfurt School is welcoming more new students this year than ever before to the three Bachelor of Science programmes: Bachelor in Business Administration, Bachelor in Computational Business Analytics and Bachelor in Management, Philosophy & Economics.
Kim Felix Fomm, Chief Investment Officer at Raisin and FS Alumnus Class of 2013, encouraged the students to embrace the impact of technology in their future careers, to trust in themselves, and not make money the main criterion in important decisions. His last piece of advice was to make the most of university life and enjoy it: “Despite the uncertainty about the future at large, there is one thing of which I am certain: You have a fantastic time ahead of you!”
Cloe de Leo, FS Spirit Award winner 2024, spoke about how discipline helped her to complete her studies at Frankfurt School with top grades and work at the same time. She also wished the new FS students: ”I hope you fill the next few years at this university with more fun than you can imagine. And I also hope you find success. I hope you take charge of your life, ready to seize the best opportunities that come your way. Because many will be coming.“
The opening ceremonies took place in the mall at the campus Frankfurt. Magicians entertained the students with amazing tricks. At the subsequent barbecue with drinks and music the new students could round off the day with a relaxed get-together and make their first contacts in the Frankfurt School community.
