The Master in Real Estate is an internationally-focused programme that emphasises real estate investment, finance, digitalisation, AI, and sustainability. Rooted in interdisciplinary collaboration and global exchange, our solution-driven approach is designed to educate and empower the next generation of real estate professionals.
The Frankfurt School Real Estate Institute (FS REI) enhances Frankfurt School’s academic offerings by integrating real estate into its curriculum and advancing research in the field. Established in November 2023 with the support of top executives from leading companies, FS REI serves as a center of excellence for key issues in the real estate and finance sectors. The institute is backed by funding from 19 corporate partners.
We offer a flexible 3-day model that supports part-time work. Students also benefit from personalised mentoring, connections with leading experts, and a global network of companies and alumni through the Entrepreneurship Centre.

Master in Real Estate Learning Goals
LG 1.1: Students have an in-depth understanding of current theories and concepts in the various areas of the real estate industry along the real estate value chain as well as in relevant interdisciplinary areas such as macroeconomics and law.
LG 1.2: Students are able to assess and reflect on complex real estate and financial problems in an analytically and conceptually sound manner, taking into account the effects of macroeconomic dynamics and future-relevant areas (e.g. sustainability, digitalization) that have a significant impact on the real estate industry. Students have a sound knowledge and understanding of current economic and real estate industry research findings.
LG 2.1: Students can apply and create advanced models for real estate products and solutions by evaluating the importance of different sources of information and potential shortcomings of different data sets and models. Their analytical approach is based on critical reflection and mathematical rigor.
LG 2.2: Students analyze financial and real estate-related problems by applying scientific and quantitative methods and using well-founded theoretical and methodological approaches that appropriately adapt the selection of theories, quantitative and qualitative methods and analytical tools to the respective problem.
LG 3.1: Students are able to present their knowledge in a convincing and well-structured manner by writing, presenting, discussing and defending research-based findings in interdisciplinary fields of research and application.
LG 3.2: Students will reach common goals by effective cooperation within a team. They will recognize conflict potentials in cooperation with others and reflect target-oriented on them in the context of situation-overlapping conditions. Students will use their interdisciplinary training to tailor their communication about research findings, problem solutions and theoretical assumptions to different audiences in order to cater for different backgrounds and perspectives.
LG 4.1: Students understand and reflect on the ethical and social implications as well as the personal and cultural differences of their recommendations and decisions in an international environment.
LG 4.2: Students understand the ethical and legal responsibilities and consequences arising from real estate products, developments, ESG requirements, AI implications and management practices.

The programme is currently in the RICS accreditation process.
The FS Real Estate Club connects alumni, FS REI partners, and lecturers within the real estate industry, offering students early access to industry connections, internships, and career opportunities.
Partners and lecturers can engage with the community by sharing expertise and discussing industry topics.
Alumni can give back by mentoring students and contributing to the future of the sector, making the club a vital link between education and the real estate industry.
With the establishment of the Real Estate Club, FS will focus intensively on real estate teaching, research, executive education, and impact events for the constant exchange of knowledge and the highest quality standards.
At the end of November 2023, the Frankfurt School Real Estate Institute (FS REI) was founded with the participation of numerous high-ranking representatives from leading companies in the real estate and financial sectors. The FS REI, which is part of the Finance Department at Frankfurt School, is headed by Prof. Dr. Kerstin Hennig.
The Master in Real Estate curriculum is designed to support innovative students with business backgrounds who aim to excel in real estate. Our programme equips students to thrive in diverse real estate environments, including banks, advisory firms, and corporations (such as development, investment management, and asset management). Graduates will gain the technical and analytical skills necessary to address current and future challenges in real estate and finance, adapting to the dynamic landscape of the industry.

The Master in Real Estate programme offers a distinctive approach known as the 3-day model, allowing students to balance part-time work with full-time studies. From the outset, students engage in classes three days a week, providing ample opportunity for self-study, language courses, or part-time employment during the remaining weekdays. Additionally, some lectures or excursions are organised as blocked week events.
The Entrepreneurship Centre aims to inspire, foster connections, and offer training opportunities to Frankfurt School students, along with external stakeholders like investors, alumni, founders, and partners. Options include participation in our Incubator for continuous support or accelerating projects through our Accelerator programme. Additionally, students can opt for the Entrepreneurship elective in collaboration with TechQuartier during the fourth semester, enhancing their specialization with a double focus.
In the fourth semester, students have the opportunity to choose two elective courses, allowing them to enrich their master’s programme and delve into specialised areas of interest. From Data Basis & Cloud Computing to Risk & Crisis Management, these electives align with students’ professional aspirations and broaden their knowledge beyond the core curriculum.
