Matthias Catón is a Senior Lecturer at Frankfurt School and Chairman and Executive Director of the Indo-German Centre for Business Excellence. He previously served as the School’s Director of Corporate Development and as Program Director for the Bachelor (BSc) in Business Administration programme.
Before joining Frankfurt School in 2011 he worked as an Associate Director at the World Economic Forum in Geneva, as a Programme Officer at International IDEA, an international organization based in Stockholm that works in democracy support, and a Research Associate and Lecturer at the Institute of Political Science at the University of Heidelberg.
Dr. Catón studied Political Science, Economics, and Medieval and Contemporary History at the University of Heidelberg and the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago. He holds a Master’s degree and a Doctorate from the University of Heidelberg, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from ESMT Berlin.
In his research and teaching, Dr. Catón focuses on the nexus between global politics and business, and on communication, particularly negotiation and public speaking. He hosts a podcast, Business Diplomacy Today.
