Frankfurt School of Finance & Management has appointed Cristian Badarinza as Associate Professor of Real Estate Finance. Starting 1 May, the economist will join the Finance Department. Together with Kerstin Hennig, Professor of Management Practice in Real Estate, he will further develop the Frankfurt School Real Estate Institute, its degree programmes as well as its research and industry networking activities.

Before May 2025, Cristian Badarinza was an Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS), an affiliate of the NUS Institute of Real Estate and Urban Studies and the CEPR Household Finance Research Policy Network, and a Postdoctoral Fellow at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. He has obtained a PhD and an MSc in Economics from Goethe University, Frankfurt. Cristian Badarinza’ s research interests are in the areas of real estate finance, household finance and financial economics. His agenda follows a structural behavioural approach that integrates both theoretical models and micro-level data to capture individual decision-making. His research has been published in internationally renowned, peer-reviewed publications such as the American Economic Review, the Journal of Financial Economics, the Review of Financial Dynamics, the Annual Review of Financial Economics, and Management Science.

The internationally oriented Master in Real Estate starts in August 2025, the comprehensive part-time programme Executive Diploma in Real Estate Economics starts in May 2025. Both programmes have been accredited by the renowned Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
